Re: Beam's Wagon: MOT time... 20/03/19

So, that's the car back from BMW who have repaired and repainted the rear arches following a long process of chasing up failed communications when I was pursuing the mythical anti-corrosion warranty. They never specifically granted the warranty work and instead authorised it as a gesture of goodwill...

Re: Beam's Wagon: MOT time... 20/03/19

As is well documented in the thread, I have been pressing BMW for a resolution to some rust issues I have with the car and BMW's 12 year anti-corrosion warranty. SUCCESS! To an extent... We have now received authority to repair and paint both rear wheel arches as a goodwill gesture. I think there's ...

Re: Beam's Wagon: MOT time... 20/03/19

Well! Had the recall work carried out today at BMW! Some seriously nice cars in the showroom... recall work to the blower heater carried out successfully then they supplied me with this which I was quite impressed by: https://video.citnow.com/vtKbdJZPWL0 Has anyone had one of these before? Even with...

Re: Beam's Wagon: MOT time... 20/03/19

Well! Out walking the dog the other day and a random call comes in from BMW saying "Oh, parts are in stock now...", asking if still owned the car and if I'd like to book it in. I wonder if someone at BMW reads forums?! Booked in for next month - same turnaround time quoted but I've asked for a court...

Re: Beam's Wagon: windscreen washer, sparks, coils and shock absorbers! 08/01/18

Also, had no trouble getting the heater recall sorted either, notice came through, booked in, done. Wonder if others have had trouble. Still waiting to hear back... Quiet lately but nice wee update today. Sailed through its MOT with only advisory being front discs a tad worn. Pads have 6-7k ...

Re: Beam's Wagon: heater repairs, leather cleaning and a DRIIIIIVE! 29/06/18

During the ownership of this car I've had various issues with the screen washing capacity (front and back). There was the issue with a separated hose at the rear and the fronts just never sprayed well enough I felt. I had read on various BMW forums that the filters can get gummed up at the bottom of...

Re: Beam's Wagon: heater repairs, leather cleaning and a DRIIIIIVE! 29/06/18

It's been a wee while since my last update but I have been so busy since starting a Masters and beyond the odd snowfoam and 2BM clean I've not had much time to spend with the BMW. Having cleared my workload for uni assessments and been signed off work for three weeks over christmas following surgery...

Re: MP's 328i/M3. 2017/2018 update

I have just happened across a project thread on detailing world and the poster documented how they had been after the same CD box for years and it brought me back to thinking of this thread, any updates? 8) The poster also had this, which I don't think I've ever seen before. I can't recall if you ha...

Re: Beam's Wagon: heater repairs, leather cleaning and a DRIIIIIVE! 29/06/18

I'm not clued up enough to comment but I think my own personal troubles are a result of poor mechanics and poor maintenance prior to my ownership. I feel like I am getting to the back of it now though, slowly. EDIT: Just came across this and makes for interesting reading: How to buy a used E9X BMW 3...

Re: Keith's Monte Carlo Edition E92 M3 (Page 6+)

Nice little write up that Keith, will have to have a dabble at it myself. It is beyond what I can physically hear/identify but my mate did comment once that it sounded like distortion or a blown speaker so it may well be that this is the culprit. Car is looking tremendous as ever, you seem to be rea...

Re: Beam's Wagon: heater repairs, leather cleaning and a DRIIIIIVE! 29/06/18

Update: possibly making my way to a cure! During the recent oil change where I found evidence of an oil leak and whilst I was still suffering from a rough idle that indicated some sort of vacuum leak I decided to retrace my steps during the work replacing the DISA valves and whatnot. There was a pi...
